Romanian women's handball team Dunărea Brăila has got
through to the group stage of EHF European League, which is Europe's second
most important competition after the Champions League. Dunarea Braila won both
legs of the tie they played on home court against Danish team Viborg. The tie
counted towards the EHF European League's third preliminary round. On Saturday,
Dunarea Braila grabbed a 26-24 win, while on Sunday, they won again, 32-28.
Also in the third preliminary round, another Romanian team, Gloria Buizau, was
outclassed by French opponents Nantes. On Saturday, Gloria succeeded a 27-21
home win. In the first leg, however, Nantes won, 23-16, so Nantes were the
winners of the tie, on aggregate. The
competition's next stage includes four groups with four teams each and will
kick off in January 2021.
In news from ice hockey, ACSH Gheorgheni on Sunday
grabbed their third consecutive win in the Erste Liga ongoing regional
competition season. ACSH Gheorgheni grabbed a 4-1 home win against Dunaujvarosi
Acelbikak. ACSH made the difference in the first half of the match, when they
scored 3 goals. ACSH Gheorgheni rank 6th in the standings, with 11
points in 9 games. Top of the table are MAC Budapest, with 26 points in 12

championship in football were played
